He has to really will himself not to snicker a little here. "He said he thinks she's, and this is a direct quote: 'foxy'." Oh, Scott McCall. Stiles loves you, never change.

"That's adorable." Lydia chuckles in turn, then chides, "Keep still. She's nice enough I guess, but I've seen her kind of butt in on other conversations going on in the cafeteria. Let's see...Cora's apparently thinking of transferring into a Doctors Without Borders program down in South America. Derek's been making grumpy cat faces."

"I am." He is doing an admirable job at trying to, anyway. They've only had to restart once. So far. "Derek is grumpy cat. On the side. Moonlighting. I bet their uncle's ecstatic."

"I don't care what his uncle thinks," she says swiftly, and there's a pause before she continues, determinedly cheerful, "You're doing really well, Stiles. We're at the twenty minute mark. Anyway. Did you know Isaac Lahey asked me out once?"

"He did?" Stiles isn't surprised. Like at all. Lydia's great. "Did you go?"

"Nope. I was very full of myself at the time. I told him that when he stopped biking into work on his Schwinn and started riding something with a motor, he could call me." Her tone is playfully. "And now it's too late. Too bad, so sad."

"Oh no, now you're doomed to ride to work in a rusty old amazing Jeep. Whatever will you do?"

[lefthandedgenius]

"I don't know." she replies mock-vapidly. "Are you planning to drive me to work every day? I do have a car too, you know. And the jeep does have a proper engine, so there's that." A faint smile and she adds, "So listen, you're at the thirty minute mark. And I have incentive for you to finish all the way through, but I can't tell you what it is because I don't want to embarrass my co-workers and make them blush."

"Hey, you could drive me. I'd be great with that. Progressive!" At her other statement? Really difficult not to move, but he manages it. Force of will! "Oh, really? That does sound like pretty god incentive."

"I'm the best incentive, I assure you." Lydia informs him, over the mic, and adds a moment later, "Whoops, the tech is blushing. Sorry not sorry. So where would you like to go after you're out of here?"

"Don't torture the tech, he might not survive it." Soft laugh, as best as he can manage without moving. He really doesn't want to start over at this point. "My place? Your place?"

"You going to be able to wait that long?" she continues to tease, but adds seriously, "Whatever you need, honestly."

"I might be! I've been pretty good at waiting." Smiling, slightly. The noise in the MRI? Starting to get to him, thouh. "How much longer?"

Lydia checks the clock, and determinedly doesn't look at the scan. "Ten minutes. You're doing great. I know you can make it."

"Next time, tell me to man up and take the giant horse pill sedative." Letting out a slow breath. "What books did you even bring?"

She hmms, her gaze straying to the littl stack of three paperbacks.

"Something with Luke Skywalker on the cover, Ender's Game, and...what's Battle Royale?"

"Well, unlike what Scott might try to tell you, it's not 'just the Hunger Games'. You might like it."

[lefthandedgenius]

"I'll look it over." she says thoughtfully. "It'll give me something to do when you're snoring too loud while drooling on your pillow. Five minutes. Almost there."

Relief? Relief. But also a lot more nervous. "Hey, I don't drool. That much."

[lefthandedgenius]

"Sometimes I wake up and I think I'm in a wading pool, except you're not wearing your floaties." Her tone remains teasing. Let her distract you, Stiles!

"Three minutes." she says after a few moments of silence. "The rest is cake. The bed should be sliding out shortly."

"That's because I don't need floaties. I could float in a pool for hours without floaties, thank you very much." He will gladly let her distract him. "Ooh. Cake. Can we get cake?"

"We can get cake. The kind from that video game that you like that makes me dizzy every time you play it, even."

And then it's done, and the bed panel is sliding out from the machine. Even as it's retracting, Lydia is getting up from her chair and going into the MRI room proper, so she's there when he's ready to sit up.

"Black Forest cake? I'm spoiled." He takes a minute to get used to being outside of the MRI again before sitting up. Slowly and carefully. He's not sure if he should ask her if they saw anything. Or if they'd really even know by now.

She didn't look. She didn't look on purpose, and it won't be until the next day that they find out anything. "You want to change in the exam room, or take a stroll back to the locker room?" she asks, adding, "I don't know if I'll be able to restrain myself if somebody tries to grab your ass." She makes a very bad pair of mock fisticuffs.

That gets a tiny bit of a laugh before he thinks about it for a moment, then looks at her. "Exam room?" Quicker, he thinks. Plus he's pretty sure his head is going to explode in a held back panic attack any minute now.
