[New Years Eve at the hospital is a hurry-up-and-wait sort of affair; long periods of nothing to do bridged by bouts of rapid activity. It's also, the residents have learned, a good night for potential organ donation. Mixed bag.

Lydia and Stiles have both drawn the lot for this evening; having gotten Christmas off they make up for it by having to work the double of both Eve and New Years Day. It's Lydia who suggested they get as much sleep as they can, which is why, about an hour and a half before their shift, she lifts her head off his chest in the dark on-call room and gives him a gentle nudge.]

Stiles. Wake up.
