[That's perfect. That's exactly what she wants. Him holding her. In their bed. In the dark. Ignoring the rest of the world when it gets to be too much. Her fingers trace over the skin of his arms as she listens, understanding what he means.]
Either way, it could be bad.
[Yeah. She gets that entirely. If she goes back to her world, she may die. If she stays here, it could end just as badly, she thinks. She rolls over carefully, her arm around his waist, as close as the two of them can get.]
There's a difference. You have me here, and I'm going to help you through whatever's coming. And Scott and your other friend are here, too. We will all stubbornly get through this.
[He carefully takes the hairband out of her hair, tangling his fingers in the strands.]
Maybe we will. Maybe we get through it. But Allison will be dead. And Aiden. He doesn't even like me, I don't get why he'd even...no, I get it. For Scott.
[He's not bitter about that, Aiden's part of Scott's pack, whether or not he or even Scott acknowledge it.]
I think Scott's gonna want to talk to you soon. I think they're going to try something. Whatever it is, don't...don't tell me. What can I do? For you? You're upset.
[Allison and Aiden are names she remembers from talks with Stiles. Allison is important to Scott. He loves her. Aiden, she's not sure she knows all that much about.
When the hairband is taken from her hair and Stiles fingers start running through the blonde strands, she closes her eyes and sighs. Charlie tilts her head back some, leaning into his hand just a bit.
This has always been her reaction, and always will be.]
I won't say a word.
[At his question, she sighs slightly, eyes opening as she looks at him.] Just keep holding me, Stiles. It's all I want right now. I don't want to talk about what happened, because it won't help me understand why the Nogitsune keeps...stepping in to protect me or whatever. I don't like it or trust it. I've never hidden that from anyone. It's....frustrating because it felt so uncomfortably familiar.
[It reminded her of the Shop. Of being told she's special and important and she's safe and fine, if she just cooperated. The Nogitsune hasn't asked anything from her, but when it does stuff like this, she feels like that moment is coming. When it'll want to use her somehow. Even when he made her the scarf, a knot had formed in her stomach and old fears resurfaced. But nowhere near as badly as they did today.]
[It worries him too, but for different reasons. He wonders, a little, if it's something that he's done that's made Charlie so fascinating to the nogitsune. Or if it's picking up something from him. Today, of all days, he's felt...he can feel how angry the nogitsune is, even now. Even when it's supposedly dormant. He can feel that it's hungry, hungrier than it's ever been. He can feel frustration. Loneliness. Fury. But it's dull. At the back of his mind, but he can feel it.
It's strange and weird and creepy, and he doesn't like it.]
[Charlie watches Stiles' face, studying his expression carefully before tucking herself under his chin. Her fingers slowly trace small circles and lines and patters on his back in an attempt to help him feel a bit better. Somehow. It's a distraction for her, anyway.]
Talk to me. Tell me...I don't know. Tell me at least one good thing that happened today and I'll do the same for you.
[They will talk about the bad stuff later. For now, she doesn't want to dwell on it. She still feels the itch of fire under her skin and calming herself down from earlier is a bit difficult.]
That's fantastic. And the blanket is so soft, oh my god. I almost wrapped myself up in it and walked home like that. [There's almost a smile on her face.]
I'm gonna try to message Lydia tomorrow to say hi. [Key word try. She's having a hard time with people, lately.]
Is it my turn? It's probably my turn. Uh...Kit...is starting a take out service. I got to order a motorized bike with temperature controlled storage for it. That's pretty awesome, right?
That's a good idea. Messaging her. Invite her to that thing on Sunday, maybe? [He knows it's hard for her, and that it might be harder for a while. But. It's good to do things.]
[Yeah, she doesn't really want to be around many people. Especially someone who doesn't Know. But Charlie's done with telling people for now. She looks at Stiles, still running her fingers through his hair and still wondering what she did to end up with someone as great as him. She felt a bit better from earlier. Not enough to stop looking entirely worried, but even that expression has shifted some.]
I will. [She's silent for a moment, looking up at him with some concern.] If I don't tell Lydia about my abilities right away, would that be alright?
[She told Scott because she hadn't been stressed or upset by outside difficulties. But now? She kind of wants to wait until she's comfortable in her own skin again, and having the Nogitsune claim her repeatedly did the opposite of that.]
[He was open and honest and just there and so accepting of everything she had to tell him.
Plus, he's really good looking. She smiles, finally pressing her lips to his. The kiss lasts for a moment or two, Charlie very gently trying to let Stiles know how she feels about him without actually saying it. Not those three words. Not just yet. She'll come close.]
Coming home to you at the end of the day makes every bad day here worth it.

One of my best friends showed up, and my awesome girlfriend found new blankets for a fort.

That's really awesome, actually.

If that's what you want, sure.
